Learn how to make Miniature festive books with Aimee from Woodle Books. Aimee has been bookbinding since 2012 and has worked for the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle and prestigious London Book Binders.
Woodle Books was started in 2017 when Aimee decided she wanted more freedom to do the work she wanted. Now specialising in handmade notebooks and private conservation work she was also commissioned to write a book during the Lockdown years. Sharing her passion for book binding with the wider world has been very rewarding. Bookbinding is a craft not a lot of people know is achievable at home with a few simple tools.
During the workshop you will be taught how to fold and manipulate paper and why grain direction is so important and how it’s recognised. You will get to choose the bookbinding cloth you cover your book with and get to choose the endpapers as well. A few trade secrets will be shared, including how to lock your thread onto your needle. All materials and specialist tools will be provided for you.
Previous Book binding experience isn't a necessity but those who have taken my beginners class will be familiar with a few of the techniques shown. A the end of this class you will go home with 3 - 4 Miniature books that a re perfect for decorating your tree, making a book garland or even to use as tags on presents!
