Francis Bowyer is a member of the New English Art Club. Colour and light have always been at the heart of the subjects that Francis is drawn to: understanding and a familiarity that comes with a subject whether it is landscape, interiors or still life. The more a location is understood through drawing and painting, the more possibilities make themselves available to explore visually. He has painted Walberswick, Suffolk and interiors of Parisian restaurants, and more recently atmospheric studies of his studio interior. In 2013 he was invited to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan as a War Artist by the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
Francis was in April 2017’s exhibition: Selected Artists from the New English Art Club.
