An exhibition of painting and prints by The Royal Society of British Artists launched on Saturday, March 7th.
Since its foundation in 1823, the Royal Society of British Artists [RBA], which became ‘Royal’ in 1887, has been a magnet for some of Britain’s most celebrated artists. A peruse through the Society’s exhibition catalogues reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of British virtuosity. Members included L.S.Lowry RA, James McNeill Whistler, David Roberts and Sir Frank Brangwyn RA, among many others and Sir Henry Moore and Sir Winston Churchill were Honorary Members. Claude Monet and Giorgio de Chirico were Honorary Overseas Members, who also showed their work with the Society.
We are delighted to be hosting an exhibition of works by twenty members throughout March!
