Using Portraiture to create a visual engaging picture
Monday 20 May
Day Course | 10 am – 4:30pm
Course fee £80
A lot of portrait practice is about making sure you get the facial features ‘right’ or copying the features in a certain style. However a good portrait usually encompasses a great deal more than this.I was at an exhibition recently and someone was standing in front of an extremely competent portrait, and commented that ‘it was very good but who would want to buy it if they didn’t know the person?’And there lies the relevance of creative portraiture……not just a portrait but an engaging, worthwhile picture.
Our workshop will be about understanding contemporary portraiture in the age of the ‘selfie’, and using portraiture to create a visually engaging picture.
