Artist in Residence Carol Goodchild offers drawing classes in a variety of media, featuring different subject matter and themes in the beautiful surroundings of the Linden Hall Studio. Some basic materials (including paper) will be available but do bring your own if you prefer.
Focussing on the textures and patterns to be found in tree bark and gnarled pieces of wood, these two classes will explore how charcoal can be used to describe the lines and rhythms found in this subject matter. Looking into these natural forms can often translate into micro landscapes and narratives. The class will begin with a short demonstration of working with charcoal.
