Lis Frink in red shoes walking along with a blue sculpture of my father’s head in her body — they lived together in a bedsit at 93 Oakley Street, off the Kings Road, Chelsea, in the early 50s — Arthur Collings/ Lis Frink — he stole her stuff to pawn it and buy drink — she looked back on the whole thing later with bitterness but it must have been fun besides grim — I never knew him but I lived in that house too in the late 60s and before that often stayed there at weekends and holidays — everything old and falling apart — the rotten red Lino they once stood on — now the house is regularly gutted and re-done up by global neoliberal property developers
